Salmat adopts Google’s enterprise solutions and hardware products

Australian full-service marketing and communications company, Salmat, has adopted Google’s enterprise solutions and hardware products as part of its transformation process.

The move will improve collaboration and communication across Salmat’s 4,000-strong workforce to create a more connected and cohesive workplace with tools such as Google Apps for Work, enabling staff to work on the go and Google Drive and Hangouts ensuring better communication across the organisation.

Salmat also plans to roll out Chromebooks to provide an enhanced user experience for employees as the laptops are specially optimised for Google’s Apps.

According to Salmat CEO, Craig Dower, the move will effectively accommodate multiple log-ins, which is perfect for Salmat’s multi-shore and multi-channel operating environments, including its contact centres.

Dower mentioned the partnership with Google for Work will enable disruptive innovation that will facilitate more ways of working and closer collaboration for all staff.

“Google is the right solution to enable our staff to embrace collaboration and drive the business forward. One of the key issues that we identified, at the beginning of our transformation journey, was an inability to communicate effectively across the company, and that people tended to work in silos rather than collaborating with others.

“It was clear that we needed to invest in driving change in this area – structural, cultural and technological – to help break down those barriers and create a more unified company, and to better service our clients,” he said.

Dower added that as many of Salmat’s clients and partners have also adopted Google, it was a natural fit for the company.

“Going Google will be a positive, disruptive change that will help transform Salmat to be a more streamlined, innovative and unified company; it will not only substantially reduce the cost and complexity of our mail, productivity and messaging environment, it also will empower our people to collaborate far more effectively across teams, geographies, time zones, and cultures.”

Salmat expects company-wide implementation to be completed by end 2015 for all office-based workers, with contact centre teams starting in the new calendar year.
