Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) has introduced OmniSwitch 6900-X72 to its portfolio.
According to the company, the high-density 10GbE/40GbE switch with embedded Intelligent Fabric technology, helps automate IT operations and offers simplified physical to virtual internetworking.
ALE claimed the Intelligent Fabric Technology (iFab) enables the user to unwrap the switch from the box, connect the cables and the system does the network configuration automatically.
The company said the iFab technology also enables simpler network designs, easy interoperability, plug-n-play deployment and automatic reconfiguration with server, device or application moves.
It is also supported in both Datacentre switching and the converged campus network solutions, designed to enable businesses to benefit from a single approach for all network infrastructure needs.
Additionally, ALE said the compatibility of the OmniSwitch 6900-X72 with other OmniSwitch 6900 platforms enables customers to mix and match switches to meet network needs adapting their environment.
