Microsoft has announced the availability of its Surface Book and new fitness wearable, Band 2, in Australia. The products will be available exclusively through the company’s first store in Australia, which is due to open its doors on November 12.

According to Microsoft, the launch is a key part of the company’s commitment in delivering an interactive retail experience, giving customers the opportunity to see and experience its technologies in the store on Pitt Street.

The new Surface Book — Microsoft’s laptop with pen and touch support – will be priced at $2299. In addition to the Sydney store, customers can purchase it from the Microsoft store online. The Surface Pro 4 tablet will also be available, priced at $1349.

The Microsoft Band 2, the latest fitness wearable, will be available in limited volumes only through the flagship store in Sydney for $379.

The grand opening will also see hands-on experiences and workshops with health and fitness gurus, the Base Body Babes; international fashion-illustrator, Kerrie Hess; and characters Master Chief and Spartan Locke from gaming franchise, Halo.

Hess will appear in the new store window illustrating live on the new Surface Pro 4. The first people to purchase a Surface Book or Surface Pro 4 device on launch day will be gifted a bespoke illustration by Hess.

Halo characters, Master Chief and Spartan Locke, will be in the store to greet fans in the new Xbox Living Room space, while the Base Body Babes will hold a dedicated fitness workshop in the new community theatre space for the first 20 people who purchase a new Band 2 device on launch day.

The launch celebrations will culminate in an exclusive performance by international music artist, Jessie J, at the State Theatre on November 12. Tickets will be available to the first 750 customers who visit the new store when it opens at mid-day.

Customers intending to line up for the products can do so from November 11, at 10pm, at the entry to Westfield Sydney on Pitt Street Mall.
