​Aruba kicks off local trans-Tasman conference with raft of new wins

Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, has announced new customer partnerships across the trans-Tasman, with Dick Smith Electronics, Crown Resorts, Fed Square (Melbourne), and the University of Tasmania.

Revealed at the company’s Atmosphere A/NZ conference this week, these organisations join a rapidly expanding group of large and SME customers in Australia and New Zealand.

For the mobility firm, they include Scentre Group (Westfield), JB Hi Fi, Tennis Australia, James Cook University and the Catholic Education Office.

“Armed with mobile devices, a new generation of users known as #GenMobile are transforming every aspect of work and personal communication,” says Keerti Melkote, co-founder of Aruba Networks and now Chief Technology Officer, Aruba.

In addressing the trans-Tasman attendees, Melkote believes how companies choose to deal with #GenMobile today will have a “profound and lasting effect” on their organisations well into the future, as they grapple with designing workspaces, retail environments and learning campuses that meet the demand for the mobile-first, cloud-first applications these users crave.

“How Tomorrow Moves” was the over-arching theme of Atmosphere A/NZ, which gathered more than 300 business leaders and technology and mobility experts on the Gold Coast, Queensland for the first time.

“Enabling mobility for employees is arguably the number one priority for enterprise and SME organisations as the industry shifts from the traditional client / server era into a cloud and mobile first era,” Melkote says.

“The recent acquisition by HP enables Aruba to deliver an end-to-end wired and wireless solution, with a mobile-first architectural approach. We know this is important to our customers around the world as their #GenMobile employees continue to demand flexibility in the working environment.”

Other session topics at Atmosphere A/NZ include creating the digital workplace, designing the campus of the future, engaging shoppers and customers via mobile engagement using Aruba beacons and implementing comprehensive mobile security policies.

As outlined by Melkote, Australia and New Zealand is a key market for Aruba, with recent research from IDC reporting A/NZ saw an overall WLAN market growth YoY of 5.7 percent for the second quarter 2015.

Melkote says Aruba has experienced double digital growth in the last year, outpacing the A/NZ market and gaining significant market share.

“Atmosphere is an influential platform for our Airheads community to discuss the trends, insights and opportunities for the Mobility and networking markets, and we are pleased to bring this to Australia for the first time,” adds Steve Coad, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, Aruba.

“#GenMobile is dramatically impacting and changing the way businesses must think about their technology infrastructure.
