This year has been earmarked for significant growth for channel services provider, Insentra, along with expansion into the UK and the hunt for a potential acquisition.

It has been almost six years since Ronnie Altit - along with co-founders Steven Boi and Izik Gur - ventured into launching Insentra.

Core vendors include Citrix, Microsoft, Symantec and Veritas. Business units include professional services, Cloud and collaboration, data management, security, application delivery and mobility, training and enhanced support services.

Altit said he was keen on launching into the networking arena and would potentially look at acquiring a company to help get into that space.

“It would predominantly be a services company who has a good reputation, solid people and good IP as well,” he said. “The interesting thing is that there’s not too many companies with our model, and not too many companies that are resolute with our model. So finding someone who is already channel minded is difficult. Whoever we acquire, we would immediately flip to a channel model.”

In the past six years, the company has achieved a solid reputation for its 100 per cent channel services model, Altit noted.

“Part of our strategy has always been to become the service provider of choice across the Asia Pacific region,” he said. “We will be significantly larger this year, than what we were last year in terms of revenue.”

Altit said it spotted an opportunity for its business model to expand in the UK and has hired Matt De La Hey and Nick Middleton.

“We’ve been working closely with another company in the UK, which has a very similar business model and outlook. They act as our sales and marketing engine, but we needed to hire people with the right technical skills and there’s a market in the UK for us,” he said. “We’re probably going to hang our own hat there.”

In the past four months, Insentra has hired about 10 people and will be adding another six to its headcount of about 40.

“We’re hiring in every practice of our business, every part of our business is firing and we’ve got a very strong focus on annuity revenue streams,” he said.

About 18 months ago, Insentra launched its Microsoft practice, which Altit said has been going from strength to strength. It also recently brought in the Login VSI toolset into its managed services offering and won Login VSI's global innovation award 2016 for its experience monitoring service (EMS).

Insentra won the award due to the inventive and meaningful addition EMS makes to Login VSI’s products.

EMS automatically load tests virtualised desktop environments with Login VSI, systematically performs user experience tests throughout the day with Login PI, and alerts IT managers of any issues that may impact on user productivity.

It also provides reports, root cause analysis with recommendations on how to change IT systems, prevents further issues and features customised dashboards for specific organisation requirements.

“It’s a real value add for the end user and also the channel partner that isn't necessarily focused on that space, it gives them something that they otherwise wouldn't be able to sell,” he said. “That’s the beauty of our business model, if we build something, it goes out to the whole channel. We also offer the opportunity for white labelling.”

Another area of growth was within the archiving and migration space, Altit noted.

“Archive migration is an area where an integrator won’t invest in because they won’t do too much work like that themselves, but for us, if there’s more than enough. We've got a team of seven people and its growing, particularly with Office365,” he said.
