Datacentre-as-a-service provider, NEXTDC, has made its DataCentre Infrastructure Management-as-a-Service (DCIMaaS) platform, ONEDC, generally available in Australia.

The solution delivers real-time datacentre intelligence in the Cloud from a centralised view of infrastructure and assets across various facilities.

ONEDC can also be customised to connect any device in any datacentre environment including own premises.

NEXTDC said the solution can replace multiple systems and management tools with one central, Cloud-based software platform.

NEXTDC group executive of customer and technology, David Dzienciol, said DCIM has been on people’s minds for a number of years, yet uptake has been cautious.

“NEXTDC has recognised the need for a DCIM platform with the same level of industry neutrality as our co-location and interconnection products, which is expressed in ONEDC as its universal adaptability to any IT environment and freedom from vendor lock-in, with usage billed monthly. We’ve designed the entire ONEDC package to remove as many of the traditional roadblocks as possible, and be easily implemented into current systems,” he added.

NEXTDC chief executive, Craig Scroggie, claimed ONEDC’s adaptability and Cloud-based mobility will make it an essential element of any organisation’s datacentre strategy.
