Melbourne-based Ngage Technology Group has appointed Jason Smith as its new CIO and head of client engagement.
In his newly created role, Smith will focus on three key areas including setting up its networking operations centre and defining a space for its service desk and managed services team; focusing on defining its managed services offering to its clients and growing its professional services business.
“The centre will have areas where we can demonstrate our monitoring and reporting capabilities to our clients and they will see the team at the forefront delivering services for them and what we can provide,” Smith said. “We’re also clearly defining and expanding our team as the opportunities in the market grow.”
Smith said some of the main requests from customers were around platform as-a-service offerings and managing their IT environments.
Prior to joining Ngage, Smith has also worked for Southern Cross Computer Systems and Brennan IT.
“It’s been really refreshing to join Ngage and use my 10-plus years experience to help them put some best practice into play in setting up those areas of the business,” he said.
