ASX-listed data services start-up, Skyfii (ASX:SKF), has continued its global expansion by opening two new offices in the US and the UK.

Skyfii said its global expansion was driven by strong market demand for data-driven analytics in both the US and the UK.

Its Cloud-based software enables public venues like hospitals, shopping centres and hospitals and campuses, monitor mobile devices throughout their premises by offering opt-in Wi-Fi to visitors.

From this data, venues can gain sales and marketing capabilities from knowledge acquired about high-traffic areas for marketing purposes. This information can then be shared with commercial tenants or other departments.

“As in our other markets, bricks and mortar venues in the UK understand that data is not just useful to online business but has become a critical component of their own revenue-generating and promotional strategies,” Skyfii chief executive, Wayne Arthur said.

“Whether they operate shopping malls, airports, hospitals, stadia, universities or even restaurants and bars, these companies want to learn more about their visitors. These insights can be used to monitor the asset performance in order to provide specialised and targeted digital marketing for themselves or their commercial tenants to generate greater value, and in turn, boost brands.”

Headquartered in London, the UK office will be managed by new appointees Michael Owen and Andrew Clark.

Owen joins the company as director of technical operations, EMEA. Prior to the appointment, Owen was channel and pre-sales manager for Aruba Networks UK and Ireland operations.

Clark joins as sales and alliances director, EMEA with a strong channel management experience gained from stints at Computerlinks, Nokia Security and Check Point Software. Most recently, Clark lead Aruba Networks partner business in the UK and Ireland as channel director.

“Clark and Owen are industry veterans who have held senior leadership roles at some of the wireless and IT industry’s largest organisations,” Arthur said.

“With their extensive experience in helping organisations adapt to the digital, Cloud and application-driven world, UK venues will be able to capitalise on the opportunity of smart marketing by better understanding the needs of the consumers visiting their facilities.”

The new US office, based in Dallas, will be lead by vice president sales and partnerships, Keith Morris and senior director of technical sales, Charlie Clemmer.

Morris joins Skyfii from Mobilitie, where he was senior director of Wi-Fi solutions and alliances and responsible for executing strategic partnerships and driving go-to-market programs. He has also held senior roles at Aerohive Networks and Aruba Networks.

Clemmer joins the company from Aruba Networks where he was systems engineering manager and consulting systems engineer. He said for the past 11 years, his focus has been on solving challenges around wireless networking and mobility-oriented solutions for customers.

Arthur said whilst the US is arguably the leading guest Wi-Fi market, the company sees major opportunities in helping venues across a range of verticals generate greater value from their interactions with commercial tenants, visitors and customers.

“Keith and Charlie’s expertise in networking – particularly around Wi-Fi and mobility – will enable us to identify these prospects as we expand our footprint across the region.”
