Lenovo named the winners of its 2016 A/NZ Business Partner Awards at a recent gala dinner held at Sydney’s Star Room in Darling Harbour.

In front of a crowd of 100 guests, the annual gala dinner rewarded key players within Lenovo’s dedicated channel partner programme.

Staples nabbed the Australian Partner of the Year award, while Dicker Data won Australian Distributor of the Year.

Staples general manager, Karl Sice, said the sustained collaboration, innovation, proactivity and mutual desire for true strategic partnership were amongst the factors for the success being enjoyed between Lenovo and Staples.

"The teams have spent considerable energy building a business plan which contains the right elements of territory/market/opportunity planning, programs, promotions and process improvements.

"From Matt Codrington and throughout his organisation, it is obvious to Staples that there is a sincere desire for growth outcomes," he said.

A spokesperson for Dicker Data said the company is pleased to have been named as Lenovo’s Distributor of the Year.

"This recognition comes after a year of strong performance from our Lenovo business unit who have delivered exceptional results in a challenging market. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the local Lenovo team to build upon this success and maintain the growth trajectory that has delivered mutually beneficial results."

Spark Digital won the New Zealand Partner of the Year gong, while Ingram Micro took home the New Zealand Distributor of the Year award.

"Winning the Lenovo Partner of the Year award is a fantastic recognition of the great work we do together with Lenovo delivering the best in breed devices to our customers," Spark Digital Cloud business manager, Sheila McLeod, said.

In addition, Meridian IT won Datacentre Group Partner Of the Year, while Computer Merchants won Innovative Partner of the Year, Computer Alliance won New Partner of the Year, and Virtunet won Growth Partner of the Year.

Lenovo said the winners were selected based on their ability to deliver innovative services, excellence in delivery and enablement of customers to realise cost efficiencies through best practice, increased turnover and improved productivity.

Lenovo A/NZ channel sales director, Margrith Appleby, said Lenovo’s partner community is essential in ensuring customers receive the best solutions and counsel on all their IT initiatives and that these awards are a testament to that.

“These awards recognise our key partners for their excellence in the channel and are a way for us to reward our committed colleagues for their dedication in triumphing our products and services over the course of the year,” Appleby said.

This annual awards gala is just one of the many events for partners in Lenovo’s Partner Advantage program.
