Mark Ogden has vacated his role as CEO of Comunet, to head up the Amazon Web Services division at Chamonix Consulting.

Following Ogden’s departure, Comunet managing director and head of consulting, Paul Lewin, has taken up the reins at the company’s helm, along with recently appointed COO, Joanna Chronis.

“Paul [Lewin] will be working closely alongside our newly-appointed chief operating officer, Joanna Chronis, to continue Comunet’s valued work in helping clients leverage technology to achieve their organisation’s goals,” a Comunet spokesperson told ARN.

“Comunet wishes exiting CEO Mark Odgen all the best in his future endeavours.”

Since his appointment in May 2015, Ogden led a period of business model transformation at the IT consulting company, enabling a cloud first approach.

Despite his departure, the company has stressed that there will be no change in its offering.

“Comunet remains an agile client-centric organisation with the full support of its board and global partners, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft,” a spokesperson told ARN.

“Comunet remains committed to securing capabilities that better serve our clients into the future and that deliver optimal and efficient solutions.”

Meanwhile, Ogden has now been tasked with ramping up Chamonix Consulting’s AWS business.

“Chamonix has been doing work for a while in the AWS space,” Chamonix Consulting director, Scott Grigg, told ARN. “We got talking about the opportunity to bring Mark on board to fast-track our AWS business.

According to Grigg, the company has been using AWS for its own development purposes for some time, alongside regularly consulting work for customers using the platform.

For Grigg, it’s an area where Chamonix Consulting has started to see some success.

“We were looking for opportunities for someone to lead that bit of the business for us,” he said. “It sounded like a good match.

“Mark’s overall view of focusing on technology as an enabler for business problems gelled quite well with the Chamonix ethos, and I thought he’d be a good addition to the Chamonix family.”

Ogden joins Chamonix Consulting with a strong background in AWS and Microsoft Azure solution delivery, specialising in helping any sized business migrate to the cloud.

“I am incredibly proud of my time and the team at Comunet,” Ogden told ARN. “We achieved great things over the past year including award recognition from Amazon Web Services, increased engagement with existing clients as well as new enterprise and government contracts.

“I am excited to join Geoff Rohrsheim, Jamie Potter, Scott Grigg and the team at Chamonix Consulting, to focus on business transformational outcomes enabled by the capability and scalability of Amazon Web Services.

“I am passionate about the role of technology moving from a cost of doing business to an enabler of innovation and growth, any sized business can embrace digital transformation.”
