Optus Business has expanded its managed security services portfolio by partnering with Palo Alto Networks.
In a decision made to target Australian enterprise and government agencies, the telco will launch its Managed Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP) services.
The new services will operate on Palo Alto’s next-generation security platform, which includes the cyber-security company's next-generation firewall, Threat Intelligence Cloud, and Advanced Endpoint Protection services.
“Our collaboration with Palo Alto Networks is another example of Optus Business’ ongoing investment in growing Australia’s ability to combat the increasing frequency and sophistication of cyber security threats,” said Optus Business managing director, John Paitaridis.
“Our enhanced managed security services are complemented by Palo Alto Networks' innovative technologies, and support Australian businesses and government agencies with services they need to operate confidently in the digital and global market,” he said.
The collaborative effort between Palo Alto Networks, Singtel, and Optus aims to protect organisations by boosting Optus’ global threat intelligence capability and expertise gained from Singtel’s global network of Security Operations Centres (SOCs).
Through the alliance, organisations can gain control, visibility, and can choose to implement particular technology initiatives within the cloud and mobile networks.
Palo Alto Networks chairman and chief executive officer, Mark McLaughlin, said the company is delighted to join forces with Optus Business as “one of Australia’s most respected and innovative ICT and managed security service providers.”
The partnership announcement comes just days after the SMB arm of Optus announced the launch of a new cloud marketplace aimed at offering services such as Office 365, SharePoint, and Norton internet security by Symantec to Aussie customers.
The new marketplace was facilitated by partnerships with cloud services marketplace provider, BCSG, and cloud IT support provider, Cloud Flow.
