A number of Australian partners are set to join an Austrade delegation to RSA Conference in San Francisco to show off local cyber talent to potential investors and customers.
The delegation will be led by Australian Cyber Security Growth Network CEO, Craig Davies, and chief operating officer, Melissa Price.
RSA Conference San Fransisco is one of the largest gatherings of cyber security professionals, vendors, and partners in the world.
Among the partners heading to San Francisco are Datacom’s cyber security arm, Datacom TSS; ACT-based consultancy, Ionize; Sydney-based integrator, Enosys; Canberra-based consultancy, Foresight; Melbourne based professional services consultancy, PS&C; Sydney-based IT security and risk management consultancy, Sense of Security; Sydney-based company, Shearwater; Melbourne-based business, Shelde; Melbourne-based MSSP, Tesserent; Melbourne-based professional services company, Triskele Labs; as well as global systems integrators, Deloitte and EY.
In conjunction, the delegation boasts a number of local vendors operating in the cyber security space.
These include ACT-based encryption and authentication company, Cogito Group; NSW-based data security software provider, Covata; key management OEM supplier, Crypsoft; Brisbane-based human verification provider, FunCaptcha; Sydney-based identity protection vendor, Haventec; Sydney-based encryption vendor, Randtronics; Melbourne-based software developer, ResponSight; Melbourne-based authentication company, Salt Group; Perth-based startup, SC8 Technologies; and training and certification provider, Secure Code Warrior.
Representatives from Adelaide University’s Adelaide Business School will also join the delegation.
Austrade said participants will be briefed by key American cyber-security experts, and will have the opportunity to make connections with leading technology companies.
Austrade’s Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for North America, Nicola Watkinson, said the US is recognised as the global leader in cyber security, with four of the top five cyber-security vendors headquartered in the US.
“The US Government is the primary driver of the cyber-security industry, followed by the banking and finance, healthcare, critical infrastructure and ICT sectors,” she said.
“The way in which leading US private-sector players are grappling with cyber threats provides some great examples of industry best practice, and a chance for Australian solutions providers to see where the trends are heading and how they can capture opportunities in this growing industry.
“Australian companies looking to grow their business should consider working with Austrade to tap into market trends, new government initiatives and the extensive network of contacts available to capture this market opportunity,” Watkinson said.
