Exeed has signed an agreement with Acronis to distribute new generation data protection technology to home users and small office home office (SOHO) customers, spanning Australia and New Zealand.
Continuing its foray into the Australian market, terms of the deal will see Exeed distribute the vendor’s personal backup solution, Acronis True Image 2017 New Generation, on shelves on both sides of the Tasman, bundling its with other software and hardware products.
Specifically, Exeed will also provide training, support, and marketing assistance to enable retailers, business partners, and resellers capitalise on the growing demand for data protection services in the home user and SOHO space.
“Due to Exeed’s growing retail presence in New Zealand and Australia, we see a great opportunity out there to attack with a fantastic backup product,” Exeed managing director, Justin Tye, said.
“There is nothing else like this on the market while there is a clear need for easy tools to protect customers’ data. Backup is very valuable.
“It doesn’t take more than one incident to understand that a small fee you pay for an Acronis True Image license is nothing compared to hundreds or thousands of dollars you would lose recovering data without a backup.”
Acronis True Image works across Windows and Mac computers, iOS and Android mobile devices, alongside Facebook social network accounts.
“We believe that consumer data loss protection is vital today as home users become more mobile and are increasingly at risk of losing precious data from theft, damage or viruses,” Tye added.
“Exeed has a large consumer device business so it made perfect sense to us to partner with Acronis to offer a fast backup solution to make it easy for customers to keep all their data safe and in one place.”
Looking ahead, Tye said Exeed will work with the vendor to help develop its retail business via the distributor’s retail sales organisation.
“It’s a major step forward in promoting Acronis’ consumer products in the region,” Acronis general manager of A/NZ, Tony Drewitt, added.
“Acronis will support Exeed’s efforts in making it easy for customers to protect their digital memories and important documents.”
As reported by ARN, the New Zealand value-added distributor officially launched in Australia during early 2016, opening up a new office in Melbourne.
Tye confirmed to ARN at the time that the new office opened in April, with first order shipments going out of the door on May 17.
