Dicker Data (ASX:DDR) has extended its distribution agreement with Symantec to include the cyber security software vendor’s Blue Coat portfolio.
Under the new agreement, which is effective immediately, Dicker Data has been granted access to distribute the network security portfolio Symantec gained through its acquisition of Blue Coat last year.
“We’re pleased to be deepening our partnership with Symantec through the addition of its network security portfolio,” Dicker Data chairman and CEO, David Dicker, said. “Enterprise security is currently a key point on every organisation’s agenda, including at the board level.
“As cyber-attacks become more prolific it’s critical that organisations implement robust and integrated security solutions like Symantec’s to protect their data and their customer’s data from vulnerabilities,” he said.
For Symantec’s Pacific director of channel sales, Joe McPhillips, the vendor’s success is tightly linked to the power of the channel and “nurturing strong partnerships”.
“Our new Secure One program makes doing business with Symantec simpler, more predictable, and more profitable for partners,” McPhillips said.
“We have taken the first key step by streamlining our channel operations and the expansion of our relationship with Dicker Data is a testimony to our commitment to our channel partners.”
Dicker Data’s addition of Symantec’s network security portfolio comes as the organisation continues to bolster its security practice and offer the most comprehensive range of midmarket and enterprise security solutions.
On 17 July, Dicker Data announced the launch of its new Enterprise Data Business unit, aimed at focusing on digital transformation and the internet of things (IoT), in a move set to bring about an opportunity for resellers in the mid-market and enterprise sectors.
