BeyondTrust is beefing up its play in Australia with the appointment of Queensland's Secure Internet Storage Solutions (Secure-ISS) as its first managed security service provider (MSSP) partner in the local market.

As per the agreement, the privileged access management company has enabled the Gold Coast-based cloud and cybersecurity partner to provide its privileged access management (PAM) and vulnerability management (VM) solutions to the region.

According to BeyondTrust, the new partnership expands BeyondTrust's privileged access management and vulnerability management to a broader global base, giving organisations in Australia access to its fully MSP-ready PAM solutions.

Broadening the availability of BeyondTrust's solutions, Secure-ISS will provide turn-key services across vulnerability and privilege management, along with services such as enterprise password management service, enterprise session management and recording service and secured SSH key management service, among others.

Secure-ISS, which also is a reseller of Kaspersky Lab, AlienVault, Beyond Trust, Tesserent, and xMatters, has a huge play within the enterprises and government space within the Asia-Pacific region and has clients including Brisbane City Council, South Gippsland City Council, and NEC Australia.

Secure-ISS managing director, Paul McIntyre, said it is pleased to offer essential tools from BeyondTrust as part of its portfolio.

"With 80 per cent of attacks on businesses leveraging privileged accounts, the need for excellence in PAM and VM cannot be overstated,” he said.

"Excellence in customer support is core to everything we do, and we look forward to providing our hallmark customer support for BeyondTrust PAM and VM solutions to organisations throughout the Asia Pacific region.”

BeyondTrust vice-president of strategic alliances, Joseph Schramm, said having partners within the PAM and VM space gives the company the added advantage that it requires.

"With the exponential growth of expertise required to manage PAM and VM in today's business landscape, quality MSPs are essential in delivering the mature, fully-featured PAM and VM tools that businesses need to stay secure and competitive," he said.

BeyondTrust started its push into Australia in 2015, with the appointment of Hemisphere Technologies (now rebranded to Thousand Hands), with former A/NZ regional manager, Nigel Hedges, saying that the deal provided a good link between what partners needed and where there was a void in the security focus locally.
