Sydney-based data analytics and marketing services provider Skyfii (ASX:SKF) has signed a new three-year deal with The GPT Group (ASX:GPT) to continue providing data analytics services to 18 of its retail properties.

GPT owns and manages retail and office centres such as the Sydney MLC Centre, Victoria’s Melbourne Central, Highpoint and Parkmore.

The master services agreement is for Skyfii’s full suite of analytics and marketing services, which includes IO Connect, IO Insight and IO Engage.

As an addition to the services being provided, Skyfii will also provide data science consultancy services to the group. These services, according to the company, allow customers to solve complex problems specific to their environments.

“We used to think we knew what shoppers and tenants wanted, but are now able to confirm our decisions, with backing of data analytics,” GPT Group head of retail, Vanessa Orth, said.

“It means we can deliver a much higher value experience to visitors in our venues, driving better outcomes for both GPT and our customers.”

“Data analytics are a very useful tool for GPT’s retails and commercial-focused properties,” Skyfii managing director for Australia and New Zealand, John Rankin, said.

“The output allows landlords and tenants to hone their in-venue communications and adapt them for a variety of different customer demographics, improving overall customer service through a better understanding of behaviour.”

The GPT Group was one of Skyfii’s first customers, when it signed to provide services for the Rouse Hill Town Centre in August 2014.

“We have been able to use the data collection and interpretation services that Skyfii provides to deliver solid commercial value in our retail and commercial environments,” Orth added.

Skyfii closed the 2017 financial year with a net loss after tax of $4.8 million, slightly less than the previous year when it posted a loss of $5.4 million.

The company revenue was up 37 per cent, posting $3.2 million.

Last month, Skyfii acquired the portfolio of customers from London-based guest Wi-Fi services provider Wicoms Wireless. Skyfii expects to expand its global presence into Europe and North America with the Wicoms acquisition.
