Tech Mahindra has inked a partnership deal with e-commerce, shipping and customer engagement software solutions provider, Pitney Bowes.

The partnership will see the IT services, outsourcing and IT consulting company work together with Pitney Bowes to address untapped opportunities in digital transformation, specifically within location analytics and customer engagement solutions.

Tech Mahindra is expected to bring to the table its expertise in consulting and service delivery, while Pitney Bowes’ technology platform aims to provide flexibility and agility through an open, modular architecture growth.

According to the companies, this partnership will have a strong focus on the telecommunications sector and will address opportunities in the retail, insurance, banking and logistics verticals.

Pitney Bowes Software Solutions A/NZ managing director, Nigel Lester, said organisations that want to be disruptive are not looking for just new product or technology but rather a solutions based approach, and this is where Pitney Bowes and Tech Mahindra can add value.

“We are pleased to partner with Tech Mahindra in A/NZ, and our partnership with Tech Mahindra fosters a collaborative working relationship where we learn from and balance each other’s strengths to bring the best solutions to the market,” he said.

“The opportunity for digital transformation and customer experience are a key objective for most industries, however, this partnership will highlight the strength of Pitney Bowes’ and Tech Mahindra’s collectively strong focus in telecommunications.”

Tech Mahindra A/NZ enterprise senior vice-president and country head, Jeffrey Ferdinands, said the company’s collaboration with Pitney Bowes will drive results for clients across a wide range of industries embarking on digital transformation to run their businesses better, “change” faster and “grow” greater.

“The combination of Tech Mahindra’s capabilities around digitalisation, automation, verticalisation, innovation and disruption, with Pitney Bowes’ strength in technology platforms in areas like customer information management, location intelligence and customer engagement will certainly enhance the value we bring to the table,” he added.

This partnership closely follows a recent distribution deal Pitney Bowes made – in late July, the company signed on Tech Data’s Technology Solutions business to deliver new customer experience solutions to A/NZ channels via Pitney Bowes’ software solution suite.

Tech Data also supports partners through consulting services, training, and enablement to ensure partners can get access to the full potential of the solutions.

On 6 July, Pitney Bowes also brought on board Zipform Digital as a partner to offer the market and existing customers with “great digital opportunities”.

The deal also follows the launch of Pitney Bowes’ new data practice, aimed at helping businesses accelerate their digital transformation initiatives. In addition, it aims to solve the emerging challenges posed by the volume and velocity of data and the applications necessary for better insights.
