ASG extends Dassault Systèmes partnership amid Virtual Shipyard Training Program launch

Offers team of advisors to help customers with their digital transformation

IT services provider ASG Group has expanded its partnership with 3D design and digital mock-up company, Dassault Systèmes.

ASG will leverage its own analytics and cloud managed services in order to help companies deploy Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

ASG first partnered with Dassault in 2016. Its customers will now have access to a team of advisors for a complete digital transformation service, according to ASG.

“We are delighted to be working with a company of Dassault Systèmes’ international standing. The strong partnership we have today illustrates our commitment to continue to innovate and explore new opportunities particularly in the defence, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors.”

Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform and solution experiences are used across 12 industries to address product and process innovation, advanced manufacturing and supply chain processes.

Specifically, this spans product quality, systems engineering, digital collaboration, regulatory compliance, intellectual property protection, governance and operations management, according to the company.

“At Dassault Systèmes, our business partners are recognised professionals as well as experts in our solutions and in the industries we serve,” Dassault Systèmes managing director AP South, Sox Konno.

“We believe ASG shares our vision of the value of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in driving innovation and enabling business transformation.”

ASG Group, which is owned by the Japanese company Nomura Research Institute (NRI), recently completed its $124 million acquisition of SMS Management & Technology. The new business is expected to generate $500 million in annual revenue and will count on a total headcount of 2,000 employees.

The announcement of the extended partnership follows the launch of the Virtual Shipyard Training Program in South Australia today.

Dassault announced it is establishing its Australian headquarters in Adelaide in 2018 as part of the plan to build the first virtual shipyard.

The virtual shipyard will assist South Australian companies working on defence projects and provide them with the opportunity to compete for work on a global scale, according to the local government.

“The 3D technology will be an invaluable source for training as the State gears up for the Future Submarines Project,” it said in a statement.

Up to nine companies will participate in the first round of the Virtual Shipyard Training Project, which already started in October 2017, and a second round will commence in April 2018. ASG will support the project as part of its skill retention.

“South Australian companies participating in this training project will improve international competitiveness, not only in defence, but across a variety of sectors,” South Australia Premier, Jay Weatherill, said.
