Cloud-based endpoint protection provider, CrowdStrike has embarked on an expansion strategy within its partner network, with a focus on the local region.

The vendor has revealed it plans to triple its current channel management team and is looking to hire about 40 extra staff in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region -- including Australia and New Zealand -- as well as tripling its funding for channel marketing initiatives.

The move comes after the company experienced significant expansion of its partner base in A/NZ as well as across the broader APJ region.

The vendor plans to continue its international expansion after establishing operations in Singapore, Japan and India. In the region, registered deals increased 500  per cent and its new business pipeline jumped 350 per cent, according to the vendor.

CrowdStrike APJ channel and alliances director, Geoff Swaine, said the company is committed to delivering active enablement and training resources to partners, which have helped drive growth across APJ in the past year.

“We will continue to strategically expand our partner footprint and relationships across the region to support customer demand and further build out our presence in APJ,” Swaine said.

CEO of Australian cyber security practice, InfoTrust, Dane Meah, said CrowdStrike's technology and services provide a differentiated offering for its customers.

“The endpoint has never been more relevant when it comes to effective protection from today's advanced threats, and our customers are looking for a different approach to the staid controls previously available,” Meah said.

Sydney-based CEO and founder of airloom, Chris Hagios, added that the CrowdStrike Falcon provided its clients with immediate time-to-value in staying consistently ahead of modern cyber threats.

In July last year, CrowdStrike hired Matthew Polly as its new worldwide business development, alliances and channels vice-president, in an attempt to reaffirm its commitment to the partner community on the heels of rapid global expansion and growth.
