BigAir Group co-founder and former CEO Jason Ashton has announced he is stepping down from his executive role at Superloop due to personal reasons.

Ashton will continue as a director and consultant for National Broadband Network (NBN) integration.

Since BigAir was acquired by Superloop in December 2016 Ashton has also been an executive director with Superloop, with the company advising shareholders on 2 July that he will remain as a director.

"The opportunity for Superloop with the NBN transition is huge and I welcome Jason's expertise, knowledge and experience in driving the best outcomes for our customers both now and in the future," Superloop CEO Drew Kelton said.

"We thank Jason for his significant contribution as an executive since BigAir was acquired in December 2016."

In March, publicly-listed company Superloop founder and CEO, Bevan Slattery, announced plans to step down as the company's chief, with former SecureCo chief Kelton replacing him.

"Having started the company less than five years ago and heading towards completion of the integration of BigAir,” Slattery told shareholders at the time.

"I’m delighted that we’re now moving into the next phase of growth, with me stepping into an executive director’s role freeing my up to focus on driving strategy and having a great CEO like Drew join the team to drive the performance of the business.”

Superloop also announced that its NBN business-to-business acceptance has been completed.

The interface that allows RSP’s to directly integrate their platforms onto the NBN platform now delivers an automated provisioning and service experience for Superloop customers with NBN Co.

Superloop has developed the system to allow other service providers wholesale access via the Superloop 360 portal and an interface later this year with the company's retail ISP, Superbb, also using this interface.

The Superbb business was recently announced and is expected to go live in October.

Through the recent acquisition of fibre broadband customer base of SkyMesh for $1.5 million, Superloop added more than 10,000 broadband subscribers to its retail broadband division Superbb.
