Commvault director of channel and alliances across Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) Kaaren Lewis will be leaving the company in mid-July.

Commvault confirmed Lewis' departure, which is the result of a global restructure that will see channel leadership roles moving to Asia Pacific.

ARN understands that the data protection and information management solutions provider is actively recruiting for the role in Singapore.

"I've been working with Commvault over the last month or so to make sure the transition goes smoothly and making sure I reached out to distributors and our partners to make sure there is no surprises," Lewis told ARN.

Lewis - who joined Commvault in June 2017 after acting as Canon's business services general manager of sales - will now look for another role within the industry.

Lewis started out in the industry at IBM, advancing up through the ranks before taking on director roles at Hewlett-Packard during the mid-2000s.

A three-year stint as general manager of Insight across A/NZ followed, before Lewis returned to vendor operations to run both local and regional software divisions for Dell.

After returning to run the channel at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in January 2014, Lewis launched her own consultancy business two years later - Lewis Furneaux Consulting - which specialised in business strategy and development.

"It's been a fabulous team and I enjoyed it," Lewis added. "I hope the last 12 months have set the foundations for the channel for Commvault. I'm wishing them all the success moving forward. I'll be finishing up in the next couple of weeks and everything will go smoothly."

In June, F5 Networks’ local managing director Robert Malkin was named Commvault’s new area vice president in Australia and New Zealand, replacing Dan Kieran, who held the role since 2016.

“Dan built and led a great team with his highly professional touch in the last two years,” a spokesperson for Commvault told ARN. “We thank Dan for his commitment to Commvault and wish him all the best.

“Rob Malkin will assume the role of area vice president for A/NZ. Rob’s experience in both enterprise and channel sales strategies makes him a great fit for Commvault."
