Synnex strikes trans-Tasman alliance with Toshiba

Terms of the agreement will also include the provision of after-sales services

Synnex has been appointed as distributor of Toshiba hard drive products in Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), amid a collaboration drive across the channel.

Terms of the agreement will also include the provision of after-sales services, targeting storage-focused partners on both sides of the Tasman.

“This alignment provides additional offerings for the system builders, surveillance and NAS market, expanding our reach and opening up opportunities to wider vertical markets,” said Darren Tan, product management and marketing director at Synnex.

Specifically, Synnex will drive adoption of storage solutions which include the recently launched six series consumer internal hard drives; spanning PC, laptops, NAS, surveillance and video streaming capabilities.

“It is critical to build our channel with distributors we can trust as we are always looking at ways to better serve and bring the products and services to the market for better support,” added Takayoshi Tokushima, director of storage products marketing group at Toshiba.

With added features and upgrades, Tokushima said the products provide partners with “high performance, capacity, reliability, endurance and scalability”, which can be deployed in the home or the workplace.

“Synnex has strong channel strategy and capability of providing technology solutions,” Tokushima added. “We see great importance and opportunities to the varied needs in today’s storage marketplace.

“Teaming up with Synnex will enable more resellers and customers to benefit and we are positive about this synergy to reach more potential in the marketplace.”

The appointment comes days after Synnex also increased cloud services capabilities across A/NZ, by bringing Danish-headquartered print services provider, Printix, to the local market.

The move sees the distributor expand its cloud services portfolio to provide secure cloud printing management services.

Printix is a cloud-based infrastructure platform used to manage and maintain print environments, allowing system administrators and managed service partners to automatically build, deploy and manage cloud-based print infrastructure.

Furthermore, Synnex also recently unveiled new finance solutions designed to simplify the sales process for the channel, allowing partners to offer hardware, cloud, licensing and professional services under one monthly bill.

Under the banner of Managed Services Finance, the offering has been integrated into the Synnex E-commerce Partner Portal, creating an automated finance approval process using application programming interface (API) technologies.

Through an existing Synnex login, local partners can create finance quotations, apply for pre-approval and manage finance settlement statuses.
