Synnex has partnered with data protection vendor, Carbonite, rolling out data protection platform offerings across Australia.

The alliance involves back-up and disaster recovery to workload migration and end point protection, which will be distributed across the entire ecosystem.

Synnex A/NZ CEO, Kee Ong, said the partnership enhances its cloud data protection portfolio.

“Especially for partners that require a solid migration solution to move client servers and data between various cloud platforms," he said. "This presents a tremendous opportunity to offer on-premise and cloud migration services."

Synnex ecommerce and cloud services general manager, Michael Tea, said that through using Carbonite, partners can move data, applications or entire servers between clouds, physical and virtual platforms with virtually zero down time.

Specifically, Carbonite’s portfolio aims to simplify data protection strategies for SMBs that enables resellers to either sell the product directly to clients or as-a-service.

"“Businesses today are required to protect more data than ever before—at the same time they need to defend against a rising number of threats to their data,” added Steve Stavridis regional sales manager of Asia Pacific atCarbonite.

"They need a comprehensive data protection strategy to ensure they can protect critical business data and minimise both planned and unplanned downtime."

Meanwhile, Synnex recently bolstered cloud capabilities across the channel, through the signing of TeamViewer.

The agreement is designed to increase cloud-based offerings for managed service providers (MSPs) locally, tapping into expertise across secure remote desktop access and support.

Also, in June, the distributor signed an agreement with Danish-headquartered print services provider, Printix, further expanding its cloud services portfolio to provide secure cloud printing management services.
