The Department of Justice (DoJ) has awarded an $18.1 million contract to AC3 for the provision of services from Cisco and Interactive with pass through warranties.
The contract - which was published on 10 August - was awarded in May 2018 and runs until May 2020, with the two-year agreement allowing for five extensions of 12 months each.
AC3 is not the only one to benefit from the contract as Best Technology Services, a field services and project management specialist based in Sydney, was named as a sub-contractor.
Resale of hardware and hardware maintenance as well as support services to the DoJ's network infrastructure are included in the contract.
The department is in the process of consolidating and streamlining its ICT network to ensure the Justice's cluster infrastructure can meet current and future business needs.
According to the contract, the new network infrastructure will need to be managed, renewed and maintained over future years.
Among what the department described as reasons for the contract are ongoing support to the DoJ strategic programs and business as usual operations, in addition to the consolidation of the network infrastructure requirements in order to achieve volume discounts.
Furthermore enhancements include the ability to achieve significant benefits such as economies of scale across the Justice cluster, common processes and procedures, alongside streamlined IT management and support, standardised supplier requirements and simplified inter-agency communications.
During the contract period, the department will issue a number of orders as variations under the agreement for a variety of products and services.

Meanwhile in October 2017, AC3 and Fruition Partners announced they had helped in the implementation ServiceNow’s Now platform for the New South Wales DoJ.
The DoJ has partnered with AC3 since 2007 and it was looking to update its IT management systems following the merger of 12 agencies under the DoJ that will be supported by the DoJ’s Digital Technology Services (DTS).
The Now platform consolidates ICT infrastructure, applications and information management across the department so users managing customer requests can access information from one single source.
In 2014, AC3 initiated the migration of the Department of Justice to the GovDC in Sydney Silverwater and transitioned the department to an everything-as-a-service cloud computing model.
Specifically, AC3 planned, managed and executed the migration of all Justice agencies - the entire migration was completed in March 2015.
