Bluechip Infotech has been appointed WatchGuard Technologies' distributor in Australia, joining Dicker Data and Exclusive Networks.

Network security vendor Watchguard expects to expand its regional footprint among SMB, mid-market and distributed enterprises.

“WatchGuard is looking to increase sales in Australia this year and our relationship with all three distributors is a key part of that overall growth strategy," Watchguard Technologies A/NZ regional manager Mark Sinclair said.

"Expanding our channel focus to reach more SMB and mid-market enterprise customers with Bluechip Infotech and its channel network of managed service providers will help us accelerate growth moving forward.

“At the same time, Bluechip Infotech has a progressive online marketplace which plays nicely in the managed service provider market making it a seamless exercise to deliver WatchGuard solutions and manage demand."

WatchGuard will provide Bluechip Infotech with sales training, certification programs and marketing resources.

In addition, the distributor will also have access to the WatchGuard Learning Centre, an advanced learning management system accessible from the WatchGuard Partner Portal which delivers personalised educational paths in sales readiness, channel enablement, and technical trainings through a web-based learning environment.

“WatchGuard’s addition to the Bluechip Infotech business will strengthen our overall offering in the network security space and reinforce our position and ability to service the Australian SMB and mid-market business sector," Bluechip Infotech managing director Johnson Hsiung said.

"We are also excited about the market opportunity which WatchGuard will provide to both our resellers and managed service providers who are always looking for innovative and new solutions to meet changing customer demands,” he added.

In January, Watchguard appointed Mark Sinclair as its new regional director for Australia and New Zealand.

Sinclair joined from Oracle where he was most recently A/NZ commercial sales programs and strategy director. During this time, he was responsible for selling Oracle cloud and software solutions to A/NZ enterprise and mid-market customers.
