The Digital Transformation Agency is seeking suppliers after extending its Hardware Marketplace to include network equipment and cabling services.

The Hardware Marketplace, flagged in December 2017 and established in June this year, is now seeking suppliers for categories two and three, which are for network equipment and cabling services.

For network equipment, each offering must fall within seven sub-categories: network routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, security appliances, complementary products, asset sanitisation and disposal services and professional services.

"Sellers who are enrolled to supply network routers, switches, access points, controllers or security appliances must also be able to supply companion software tools and devices to deliver the services available from any or all of the devices they are enrolled to supply, including associated network monitoring and management equipment software and tools," the ATM documents.

Associated equipment and services may also include: WAN accelerators; load balancers; data centre fabric technologies; blade switching; filtering and aggregation services and high speed interconnects.

The scope of the offerings for network cabling services includes: modifications, repairs and testing of existing cabling infrastructure; the performance of audits and reviews of existing cabling systems; the design, installation and testing of new cabling infrastructure; the supply of related equipment and materials to ensure the cabling is functional.

It also includes the provision of professional advice and recommendations regarding cabling solutions and related technologies; the provision of other related infrastructure services as requested; if specified in a contract, the provision of underground cabling and the provision of power, to telecommunications and equipment rooms.

The application process is currently open and the DTA expects to have completed the evaluation in December for commencement of the agreements with the suppliers for January 2019.

In July, the DTA released a request for information for categories two and three, which would look at services and products including wireless routers, network switches and firewalls.

"The Hardware Marketplace will gradually replace the Hardware and Associated Services panel and the Department of Finance‘s commercial off-the-shelf software and hardware panel (COTS)," the DTA said in a statement at the time.

In September, the DTA also revealed the first panellists for the enterprise storage category of the panel. The first group counted on 36 suppliers.
