‘Best year yet’ as HP honours Aussie partners

Awards recognised revenue, overall growth and engagement with HP

HP has honoured its top performing partners across the channel following the ‘best year yet’ for the vendor in Australia.

Unveiled during a jam-packed ceremony in Sydney, the awards recognised revenue, overall growth and engagement with HP during the past 12 months.

Spanning 12 categories, channel success was acknowledged across print and PC divisions, alongside education, SMB, supplies and distribution.

“It’s important to celebrate the achievements of our partners in 2018,” said Mike Boyle, the recently appointed managing director of HP South Pacific.

The awards come amid a record-breaking year for the technology giant in Australia, triggered by continued growth across print, PC and channel markets.

“Together with the channel, we have produced the best year that HP has ever had in this market as a standalone company,” Boyle added. “At a local level, the HP team and the channel has been present in the market in an amazing way during the past 12 months.

“We have number one market share and we’re actually growing on this market share in all of the key markets that we want to play in.

"We have an incredible product portfolio that is putting itself ahead of the pack and we’re going to continue that innovation moving forward.”

As reported by ARN, HP continues to maintain a healthy leadership position in the Australian PC market in particular, following eight consecutive quarters of year-on-year growth.

According to IDC findings, the tech giant recorded 15.7 year-on-year growth during the second quarter of 2018, backed up by expansion across retail and a host of new products including premium convertible notebooks.

“We are also proud of the industry recognition and one of the most significant this year was the ARN Innovation Award that we won for the Channel Choice Hardware Vendor of the Year,” Boyle added.

“This is the second year in a row that we have won this award and let’s hope we can return in 2019 and keep delivering this success. Thank you to our partners for the feedback.

“We have high standards in the way that we hold ourselves accountable in the market and the values of trust and integrity are central to what we do.

“We’re here to serve our channel and to continue driving business forward. We’re here to listen and to ensure that we’re all succeeding together because we can’t afford to become complacent.”
