Dimension Data has been awarded a $7.5 million contract to supply IT broadcasting and telecommunications services to the ACT Health Directorate.
The ACT Health Directorate provides a range of health services to those living in the Australian Capital Territory, with a responsibility for setting health policies and plans, while also delivering health services.
Furthermore, the department also funds non-Government organisations that provide healthcare services in the territory.
The five-year contract was awarded in December 2018 after a public procurement process, with the possibility of a three-year extension.
ACT Health Directorate was looking for a provider that was able to offer 2,000 devices from Spectralink, a US-based mobile communications vendor focused on healthcare, retail, manufacturing and hospitality.
As part of the contract, Dimension Data will deliver, with the help of distributor Wavelink, 90 devices in January, followed by another four phases: 410 devices in February, and then 500 in March, April and May.
Dimension Data will also provide hardware support and maintenance, with the contract also including software licensing, back0end support and maintenance and approved third party software such as firmware.
In July 2017, Dimension Data delivered an advanced communications systems to two Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) in Brisbane.
For that contract, Dimension Data partnered with Cisco, negotiated discounts with other vendors and donated staff time to do the racking, stacking and fit-out for the project.
Meanwhile, in November 2018, the technology provider was awarded a $31.6 million contract with Transport for New South Wales to provide Microsoft software.
