Karl Sice (Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise)
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise has appointed Karl Sice as sales leader across Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), tasked with driving growth through cloud and services.
ARN can reveal that Sice joined the vendor effective 1 April, having vacated his role as head of Commercial and Federal Government at ASI Solutions in March.
“It is critical to permanently adapt our sales strategy to the market and accompany our customers in their digital transformation taking into account their specific industry needs,” said Pierre Samson, senior vice president of Asia Pacific at ALE.
In hiring Sice, Samson said the vendor will now have capacity to offer “more local proximity” towards customers and partners, alongside a deepened focus on specific industry verticals.
“With an experienced and dynamic leader in place to drive growth in the A/NZ region, we are well positioned to help our customers generate real business benefits throughout 2019 and beyond,” Samson added.
With expertise across communications and infrastructure solutions, ALE specialises in the deployment of business telephony, cloud solutions and network services, spanning verticals such as education, healthcare, hospitality, government and transport.
Specific to the channel, the vendor houses more than 2900 business partners worldwide, which includes resellers, system integrators, hardware vendors and independent software vendors (ISVs).
Sice - inducted into the ARN Hall of Fame in 2017 - exited ASI Solutions after 16 months, following more than six years at Winc, previously Staples.
Before taking on the Staples role, Sice was general manager of Acronis across Pacific and A/NZ, alongside sales and director roles at Gartner and Sun Microsystems respectively.
In addition, Sice has held management roles at American Express and Dell, working in markets spanning both sides of the Tasman, the US and across Asia Pacific, including Japan.
