Dell EMC and Intel have partnered to launch five artificial intelligence (AI) experience zones in five locations in Asia Pacific, including one in Sydney.

The Dell EMC AI Experience zones will offer an "immersive" AI experience and are located within the vendor's customer solution centres in Bangalore, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.

The centres will offer partners and customers the tools to gain a "comprehensive" understanding of AI technologies and its advancements and practical solutions design and deployment experience.

These tools include masterclass training, engagements and collaboration opportunities with on-site guided steps to kick-start AI initiatives including design, installation, maintenance and delivering tangible business outcomes.

"The APJ region is building intelligent organisations powered by data, with AI technology woven into their digital fabric," said Andrew Underwood, chief technology officer, high performance computing, artificial intelligence at Dell EMC APJ.

"The Dell EMC AI Experience Zones provide a unique space where customers and our partners can explore, test out, and learn about the different physical and virtual components that make up an AI ecosystem.

"This initiative is the focal point of our commitment to fostering knowledge sharing between CIOs, our ready team of technology experts, and industry partners to accelerate AI adoption and innovation for the region," Underwood said.

Partners will have the opportunity to see how the Dell EMC High-Performance Computing (HPC) and AI ecosystem can be used to address business challenges and opportunities across a wide range of industries.

“Dell Technologies’ channel ecosystem will play an important role in the adoption and implementation of artificial intelligence projects," Underwood told ARN. "By developing a practical understanding of AI, and bringing their customers to the AI Experience Zones, our partners can help drive the innovative projects we know will come out of our region.

"Working with our partners to explore what is possible with AI is a priority and we look forward to introducing all our channel partners to the AI Experience Zones soon.

"So far, we’ve had a great response from the local channel community. Partners from all different backgrounds joined us at our AI Masterclass roadshows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We’re pleased that our first engagement in the Sydney experience zone is with IQ3 and its customers,” Underwood added.

The AI Experience Zones will count on the latest generation Dell EMC PowerEdge servers paired with open source AI software developed by Intel such as OpenVINO toolkit as well as Dell EMC networking and storage technologies.

By combining and optimising Intel's latest AI technology with Dell EMC infrastructure, the experiences zones will offer high-performance big data processing, analytics, and deep learning capabilities from the data centre to the edge.

"AI is poised to usher in a new era of machine intelligence, and we want to provide every data scientist, developer and customer with access to the right tools to unlock deeper levels of knowledge and insights," said Lisa Spelman, vice president and general manager, Intel Xeon processors and data centre marketing at Intel.
