Data#3 has landed two contracts with the Western Australian government including the education sector as the sole supplier of Microsoft licensing software.

Data#3 was selected for the three-year whole of government licensing deals, based on its value for money proposal, and its focus on providing flexibility and autonomy to government agencies, which was in line with WA’s ICT strategy.

In 2015, the WA government began shifting from its traditional ICT procurement model to a cloud-heavy, as-a-service model, under the program dubbed GovNext, which aims to save up to $650 million over 10 years.

“The Data#3 Western Australian office is going from strength to strength, and the investment we’ve placed in our people is directly passed onto our customers through innovative solutions. These contract wins are a direct result of this investment and the expertise we deliver,” Data#3 Western Australia general manager Kingsley McGarrigle said.

Data#3 CEO, Laurence Baynham, said it had a long history of working with Australian government agencies.

In March, Data#3 expanded its Canberra office in response to growing customer demand specifically boosting its consulting, software, infrastructure and services delivery.

The expansion will also see Data#3 increase the number of security-cleared people inside the ACT region, which is a key requirement for many customers.

A steady pipeline of customer opportunities has set Data#3 on course for growth during the current financial year posting net profit after tax of $6.1 million, or a 126.7 per cent increase.
