LiveTiles and Microsoft have partnered to develop a new corporate intranet with pharmaceutical giant Novartis becoming their first joint customer.

The new product will use Microsoft’s SharePoint home sites and Wizdom software, which LiveTiles acquired for $48 million in February.

Announced during Microsoft’s SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas, the product forms part of Novartis’ “data  and digital transformation” and will link up its 140,000-strong workforce.

“Microsoft’s commitment to the evolution of SharePoint aligns perfectly with our own product road map,” LiveTiles founder and CEO Karl Redenbach said.

“This launch and new customer announcement have further strengthened the relationship between Microsoft and LiveTiles, and will drive even stronger joint sales  and marketing activities to enterprise customers across the globe.”

LiveTiles and Microsoft recently paired up to launch a program in Australia aimed at helping partners lift their artificial intelligent (AI) capabilities and deployment opportunities in the market.

Last year, LiveTiles also bought employee profile and directory management software company Hyperfish for $8.9 million.

“These solutions have been built upon several years of deep experience and have now delivered some of the world’s largest intranets – including Novartis, PepsiCo and numerous other Fortune 500 companies,” the company added in a shareholder announcement.

According to the publicly-listed LiveTiles, Wizdom and Hyperfish will extend and enhance the SharePoint home sites to “deliver powerful, personal and enterprise grade intranet experiences”.

“We are thrilled that LiveTiles, along with Wizdom and Hyperfish, are building on SharePoint innovations like home sites, to deliver unique experiences and solutions that empower our joint customers to achieve more,” said Dan Holme, senior product marketing director of SharePoint and OneDrive at Microsoft.
