Vonex sees strong growth with new Qantas Business Rewards partnership

Also hires new channel manager Rosa Alessi

Vonex is continuing on its growth flight path after inking a new partnership with Qantas Business Rewards (QBR).

Under the new deal, the telecommunications service provider will offer VoIP and hosted phone systems to boost the rewards program's sales.

Vonex also reported higher sales in the most recent quarter, claiming it had made progress within the SME market and had now more than 30,000 registered active Private Branch Exchange (PBX) users.

During the quarter, the company experienced a 44 per cent increase in new customer sales value over the previous period, exceeding $1.3 million.

On top of this, Vonex is also building up its channel team through hiring Rosa Alessi as a new channel manager. Alessi previously worked for United Networks, Planet Tel, Bell Networks, Commander and Lanier.

Its channel partner focused sales software platform, Sign On Glass, also saw 26 per cent growth in orders.

“We’re really pleased with the progress that we’ve made through the June quarter as we continue to show significant improvement across our key metrics. Achieving 30,000 active PBX users means we have grown our active database by 25 per cent over the past 12 months,” Vonex managing director Matt Fahey, said.

“We expect to build on this momentum through FY20 and beyond as the QBR partnership is launched and as the NBN rollout schedule approaches it peak, leading to continued growth in active users and contracted revenue.”

In June, Vonex said it was on the look-out for more channel partners as it prepares for growth driven by the National Broadband Network (NBN) roll-out.

The Perth-based company claimed it signed 72 partners during the 2019 financial year, which have helped grow its PBX registrations.

In an effort to continue its growth, Vonex also promoted its Brisbane-based channel specialist Terry Tangredi to head of sales.
