Data centre provider Digital Realty has expanded the reach of its IBM Cloud Direct Link with "dedicated hosting" services in Sydney.
Through the expansion, Digital Realty expects to increase the adoption of hybrid cloud by local enterprises.
The service is available from the company's data centres in Erskine Park. In November, Digital Realty opened Digital Erskine Park II and acquired more land to build Digital Erskine Park III, adding 12 megawatts of capacity to its Erskine Park Connected Campus.
Digital Realty is the host of IBM Cloud data centre, which reduces latency for customers and claims to offer speeds up to 10 Gbit/s.
The collocation provider also offers IBM Cloud Direct Link Connect and IBM Cloud Direct Link Dedicated.
"We are the first data centre provider to offer IBM Cloud Direct Link Dedicated Hosting, and currently the only data centre provider to offer IBM Direct Link Connect," said Digital Realty chief technology officer Chris Sharp.
Michael Fork, distinguished engineer and director, offering management at IBM Cloud said that this expansion is providing Digital Realty customers with a new on-ramp to the IBM Cloud and the vendor's suite of services like AI, blockchain, analytics, IoT and quantum.
