German-based remote connectivity platform provider TeamViewer has launched a new channel program in A/NZ as it aims to build up its portfolio of focused partners.

TeamViewer enterprise and channel sales manager of APAC Emad Afghani said it was focusing on building up at least five key partners in each Australian state, which will be supported by its account managers.

“We like to be co-pilots with our partners and support them through the entire sales cycle from proposition, securing the deal through to the customer education phase on what TeamViewer can do,” Afghani said.

The new channel program involves two levels -- entry and specialised, with certain prerequisites that need to be met for specialised partners such as training resources, certifications and sales targets.

TeamViewer has about 60 staff in its Adelaide office that also includes a focused channel team, led by Vivian Ren.

Just recently the company revealed its software had been installed on more than two billion devices globally, generating a variety of use cases from helping to connect co-workers, remotely controlling IoT devices and maintaining servers or IT infrastructure.

Afghani explained it was dominant within the SMB sector and up until a couple of years ago, began to see interest spread into the enterprise arena, prompting the launch of its enterprise product, Tensor.

It also expanded its product range to include remote and asset management, remote monitoring, endpoint protection and IoT. The vendor is also in the stages of piloting its augmented reality software.

In July last year, TeamViewer struck a distribution partnership with Synnex, which the vendor said was an integral part of its expansion strategy.

“It’s a unique chance for us to access new opportunities and gives us the ability to extend our enterprise reach to clients and channel partners alike,” Konstantin Ebert, vice president of APAC and global channels at TeamViewer, said at the time.
