InTechnology Distribution and Pole Star have teamed up to open a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) innovation lab and showroom in Queensland’s Gold Coast.

The distributor and the tracking and analytics provider officially opened the hub in the city's airport precinct last month.

The showroom will primarily showcase Pole Star’s 360-degree plug and play indoor location technology, as well as its BLE beacons, NEO SDK and NAO Maps.

Users are able to join monthly introduction and educational sessions at the showroom on subjects ranging from IoT, smart buildings, smart cities, among other things.

Also on offer is a professional services suite offering deployment assistance and support, while partners will be able to test and validate BLE solutions before their commercialisation.

The first business to utilise the testing environment is Time Palette, a Melbourne-based clock developer, which is integrating BLE into their products.

“Testing and piloting our offering in a controlled environment means we can provide a better more innovative technology than anyone else in the industry,” Donovan Ferguson, managing director of Time Palette, said.

“We are bringing together the best of technologies, and this wouldn’t be possible without this type of facility.”

Mark Winter, CEO at inTechnology Distribution, added he was excited to host Pole Star’s first Australian innovation lab and showroom.

“Our goal is to provide this centralised facility for our partners and their clients to start testing the business case for BLE and the value this adds to their orgainsation,” he said.

The showroom is part of the provider’s expansion into Australia, which was initiated through a deal the two companies made in 2018.

“We now have a facility to showcase to those seriously looking to BLE and location services to advance their organisation and user experiences,” Christian Carle, CEO at Pole Star, added.
