Australian technology startup Devika is aiming for scale and an entry into mass market industries following the inking of a new alliance with HP to deliver end-to-end virtual reality solutions to end customers.

The arrangement will see Devika work with HP Australia to deliver VR-ready hardware and software for VR content development and deployment.

Among Devika’s offerings is its Kolb programme, through which it is working to introduce VR to Australian classrooms and make learning software accessible to students nationwide.

Meanwhile, the startup’s Evenness product sees it collaborate with NDIS providers to provide access to virtual sensory rooms designed to enhance the way individuals with disabilities manage anxiety, learning difficulties or developmental disabilities.

More broadly, Devika works with Australian enterprises looking to utilise the benefits of VR, augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), along with mobile-first apps to transform their business strategies and advance their capabilities.

According to Ken Kencevski, founder and CEO of Devika, the collaboration, which is part of HP Australia’s VR independent software vendor (ISV) programme, will allow Devika to work more closely with HP and its channel partners.

“Now that we have official support from HP Australia, we will be looking to see how we can roll out our own products, Kolb and Evenness, when scaling them out to the mass market industries in education and mental health,” said Kencevski.

The startup, which was founded in Wollongong and now has offices in Sydney and the United States, is now looking to explore how it can use the HP headsets in its ongoing initiatives, Kolb and Evenness.

For HP’s national commercial channel sales manager Adrian Thake, the vendor is looking forward to working with Devika and bringing a full service solution to our partners and customers,”

“At HP we believe in making life better through our technology, services and solutions and we created the VR ISV programme to foster collaboration between HP partners, customers and ISV’s,” Thake said.

“This programme will give partners a competitive advantage in the market and to encourage growth in the rapidly evolving VR industry.

“Our vision is to become the leading one-stop shop for commercial customers from VR development to deployment. Working with innovative companies like Devika allows us to bring this vision to life in the Australian channel,” he said.
