Cohesity has appointed Cathy Conroy as head of alliances for the Asia Pacific region, in a move to support regional partners.

Based in Brisbane, the newly-created role sees Conroy responsible for the recruitment and management of cloud, storage and software partners.

Conroy will also support customers focused on the deployment of backup and data management solutions, and will work with alliance and channel partners to help customers solve mass data fragmentation -- data located in on-premises infrastructure silos and clouds that does not integrate, making it difficult to manage.

William Ho, vice president of sales for Asia Pacific at Cohesity claimed Conroy is “an experienced and trusted leader in alliance and sales management” and will be expected to work with alliance partners in order to remove data silos and solving mass data fragmentation issues.

“She will help support the robust growth we see as enterprises aim to reduce complexity, drive innovation, and extract maximum value from their data,” Ho said.

Conroy added that the business is “committed” to improving relationships with partners for the sake of customer success.

“We look forward to working with partners to fulfil key market objectives including driving new business, establishing a competitive advantage, and creating demonstrable business value through our portfolio of best-in-class, market-leading software solutions,” Conroy said.

“We have an exceptional base of partners in the region recognised for their innovation and performance and I am excited to build on our mutual success and market momentum as we approach 2020 and beyond.”

Prior to her appointment, Conroy served in a number of sales, alliance and partner management roles for over 20 years at Commvault, Nimble Storage, NetApp Australia and Sun Microsystems.
