Ingram Micro gains worldwide access to cyber protection solutions Acronis has signed a multi-year global distribution agreement with Ingram Micro in a move designed to drive security solutions through the channel. Terms of the alliance will see Ingram Micro gain worldwide access to the vendor’s cyber protection suite of offerings, spanning data safety, accessibility, privacy, authenticity and security. Such technologies aim to enhance security across data, applications and systems, including data management in the data centre, cloud and edge devices. “Ingram Micro is an important ally in our efforts to promote our vision of modern cyber protection, and this renewed relationship will enable even more service providers to deliver innovative, effective, affordable solutions to their customers,” said Serguei Beloussov, founder and CEO of Acronis. In an ecosystem housing more than 50,000 partners, Beloussov said the Acronis channel is currently experiencing “significant growth”. “With traditional data protection and cyber security solutions failing to meet modern data challenges, the demand for true cyber protection continues to grow,” he added. “Service providers now face a lucrative opportunity, and Acronis and Ingram Micro can help them leverage that opportunity.” The expanded alliance comes less than two months after Acronis unveiled plans to invest $10 million to help traditional resellers transition into service providers as part of enhanced in-market channel plans. To kick-start change, cloud service providers who sign up to be a partner between 7 October and 31 December will receive three months of free usage. As reported by Channel Asia, the vendor is also set to roll out a new partner program during the fourth quarter designed to “educate traditional resellers” on the benefits of converting to managed service providers (MSPs), focusing on how to acquire new customers, reduce churn and increase revenues. “Acronis solutions are known worldwide for their unique and effective approach to cyber protection,” said Renee Bergeron, senior vice president of global cloud, Ingram Micro. “Ingram Micro serves more than 200,000 customers in approximately 160 countries, and we’re certain our customers will see great benefits from using Acronis Cyber Protection solutions to safeguard their data against modern threats.” Related content news Sembcorp inks partnership with Equinix for clean energy The energy power purchase agreement will supply renewable energy across 1290 HDB blocks and 99 government sites.
