Cirrus Networks has become the latest managed service provider to win a contract with Australian mining giant Rio Tinto.
The Perth-based company has won a three-year deal to join the Asia Pacific west IT vendor ecosphere consultancy panel, which will enable it to bid for IT infrastructure services with Rio Tinto.
The terms and value of the deal were not disclosed by the publicly listed MSP.
“Cirrus is excited at the opportunity to collaborate with such a high-quality global organisation,” Cirrus managing director Matt Sullivan said.
“We are proud that we have been able to demonstrate our capability in delivering high-value solutions to the resources sector and look forward to showcasing these to Rio Tinto over the coming years.”
The win comes at a promising time for Cirrus Networks after its bottom line saw a bounce-back and revenue uplift of 136 per cent in the last financial year.
The contract, which comes with a two-year extension, is one of a number handed out by Rio Tinto to IT and networking companies in November alone.
Earlier in the month, the miner handed Swift Media a $1.5 million to install Wi-Fi access points across its site accommodation in WA.
Empired also won a five-year deal with Rio Tinto, which will see it supply services across a set of “newly defined service pillars”, the value of which also remained undisclosed.
