PeopleSoft's EnterpriseOne software suite will run on Linux starting in the second quarter, the enterprise software vendor announced Wednesday.
The company acquired the applications, Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Financial Management, Asset Lifecycle Management and Project Management, last August when it bought software company J.D. Edwards & Co. It rebranded them EnterpriseOne and launched them with a PeopleSoft look and feel in September.
PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.10, to be released in the second quarter, will run on Red Hat's distribution of Linux.
Wednesday's announcement brings the acquired EnterpriseOne applications into line with PeopleSoft's existing Enterprise range: The company ported 170 applications to Red Hat Linux last year, after announcing the move in May.
PeopleSoft supports its software on operating systems including Hewlett-Packard's HP-UX and HP Tru64 Unix, IBM's AIX and z/OS, Linux, Microsoft's Windows 2000 and Sun Microsystems Inc.'s Solaris, according to its Web site.
