Wavelink introduces schools to Meru Networks’ LAN solution

$25,000 in wireless technology to be won in winter wireless K-12 school promotion

One lucky Australian school may be the recipient of a complete wireless system from wireless communication distributor, Wavelink and its vendor partner, Meru Networks, a provider of virtualised wireless LAN solutions.

The competition is targeted at K-12 schools.

“A reliable network can mean the difference between wasted class time and a session that rapidly engages students in a rich educational experience,” Wavelink managing director, Ilan Rubin, said.

The $25,000 LAN package includes 20 AP320i 802.11n WLAN Access Points (AP) and a MC1500 controller running Meru’s System Director with Air Traffic Control that is licensed for 20 APs and the capability to expand to up to 30 APs.

In addition to the hardware, the package will come with comprehensive support for one year by MeruAssure Support that covers troubleshooting, software upgrades, patches and replacements.

The support also extends to Wavelink, or one of its authorised resellers, performing site surveying and coverage planning for the network before installing the 20 APs and controller, configuring the network and verifying its operability to ensure that the customer is receiving the coverage that they want.
