The Project Factory granted funding by NSW government

Social game, Lost Monsters, gains IMF funding for mobile development and international commercialisation

The New South Wales Government has granted The Project Factory an undisclosed portion of a $3 million Interactive Media Fund (IMF) over two years to assist in the mobile development and international commercialisation of Lost Monsters.

Lost Monsters is a social game developed by The Project Factory, and one of 10 innovative interactive media projects that has attracted the NSW Government’s support.

“We are delighted to support this local talent in the digital content space and are impressed with the calibre of projects being produced which extend traditional filmed entertainment into dynamic new platforms,” Screen NSW CEO, Maureen Barron, said.

The IMF, which is managed by Screen NSW, is designed to support the creation of innovative digital content and commercially orientated projects that are destined for distribution on Internet, wireless, mobile, or other emerging platforms or devices. It is split between ten developers.

“The support for Lost Monsters by the IMF funding will allow us to fast-track the game’s growth and development into other platforms including mobile and TV,” The Project Factory director, Guy Gadney, said.

According to the developer, the game has attracted commercial interest internationally from online publishers, mobile developers, broadcasters, and merchandising specialists after being showcased at Mip TV in April.
