Telcoinabox signs on bumper number of customers

Signed on 60 new RSPs last year – a 300 per cent increase from the previous year

Telecommunications wholesaler and aggregator dealing with services including broadband and VoIP, Telcoinabox, has signed on 60 new retail service providers over the last year.

According to Telcoinabox, this number is a 300 per cent increase from the previous year. In 2009/10 it signed on 13 new retail service providers and in 2010/11 that number increased to 15.

“The number of leads has also gone through the roof. In 2009/10 we had about 800 leads; in 2010/11, around 990 leads; and in 2011/12, there was a 40 per cent increase to nearly 1400 leads,” Telcoinabox global CEO, Damian Kay, said.

The company claimed opportunities surrounding the National Broadband Network (NBN) were the reason behind the increase in its customer base.

“People look at business opportunities surrounding the NBN and want to be a part of it, and because we provide the systems for all the billing and provisioning on their behalf, they can concentrate on building their business rather than actually running the telco as it were,” Kay said.

He claimed it has raised a lot of interest from managed service providers and telecommunications dealers.

“We had a transition from being a data dial-up to DSL a few years ago, and this is the next part of a transition into a fibre-based national network.

Moving forward, Kay mentioned that Telcoinabox will be developing its strategies to suit these customers.

“We continue to do that in making sure that we tailor and customise our value proposition and our offering to further enhance these types of customers. We’re continually developing the platform and the systems to be able to support them.”

It will also be looking to further continue driving the number of customers it is bringing on, as well as attracting retail service providers at the higher end of the market.
