Good Technology acquires BoxTone

Expands portfolio in mobile service management

Good Technology has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase BoxTone.

The mobile security provider said the acquisition will allow it to integrate BoxTone’s enterprise mobility management software into its portfolio. Good Technology claims this will help it provide an end to end mobile security solution.

The acquisition follows a collaboration in November 2012 that delivered an enterprise mobility management solution.

Good Technology president and CEO, Christy Wyatt, commented that enterprise mobility deployments were a critical part of providing security and service quality, with customers deploying more devices with more applications to an increasing number of users.

“The acquisition of BoxTone by Good brings together the industry’s leading provider of secure mobility solutions for data, devices and apps with the industry innovator in mobile service management, enabling IT to confidently build, deploy, support and manage mobility at scale.”

BoxTone president and CEO, Alan Snyder, said “The synergies between BoxTone and Good will allow customers to benefit from the unique combination of security and service management to manage their business-critical mobile deployments.”

“Coupled with Good’s premier security and mobile app development platform, we will enable unified mobile monitoring, management, support and analytics that will drive down total cost of ownership and drive up ROI.”

Good has customers in 130 countries and the acquisition is hoped to improve penetration in all markets through a more comprehensive mobile security offering. The company is particularly focused on the Japanese market where BoxTone has existing relationships with carriers.
