iseek Communications appoints new COO

Ian Porter to implement strategic plan and manage operations

Ian Porter has been appointed as the new chief operating officer for iseek Communications.

The enterprise data centre and managed network services provider said Porter will be responsible for implementing iseek's strategic plan and managing all operational aspects of the business across Australia. Porter will report directly to iseek Communications managing director and CEO, Jason Gomersall.

“Ian’s leadership skills and industry experience are great assets to the business, and I am delighted he is joining iseek at such an important time in both the company’s growth phase, and the industry’s increasing shift to the as-a-service business model," said Gomersall.

Porter has over 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry in a range of roles. Most recently, he was General Manager for iseek-KDC Australia, a joint venture between Keppel Data Centres and iseek Communications, established in March 2012.

Porter has also served as general manager of broadband products for Optus, looking after fixed and mobile broadband products. Previously, he was general manager of data and voice products in Optus wholesale.
