Inabox wins first customer for new telco platform

Announces national mass market service

Inabox has signed its first mass market customer looking to launch a nationwide telecommunications product.

The client will use the Inabox infrastructure to launch its own retail service in telecommunications.

Due to confidentiality agreements, the identity of the client has not been revealed. Inabox said there will be an Australia wide marketing campaign from the client to coincide with the launch.

This is a new venture for the wholesale telecommunications provider. Inabox chief executive officer, Damian Kay, said the company has made a significant investment in the new mass market segment of the business.

“The big difference for us between our existing business segments and mass-market is scale. Our typical retail service provider may support thousands of end users. Mass-market clients have their sights set on hundreds of thousands of end users.”

The segment of Inabox’s business will involve providing enablement services such as provisioning, billing, network services and support to large corporations entering the telco market.

“To ensure this new business segment is profitable for Inabox, we structure our involvement so that Inabox won’t carry the credit risk for supplying telecommunications services. We do this by enabling Inabox’s mass-market clients to deal directly with carriers, but supported by our systems and network,” Kay said.
