Perspecsys to exhibit with Salesforce at CeBIT

Covers Data recovery and tokenisation

Perspecsys is one of a number of partners to exhibit with Salesforce at CeBIT Australia.

The conference is the largest and most comprehensive annual gathering of industry, government and services in the region. This year, data compliance and regulatory issues regarding Cloud adoption are seen as a key topic for discussion.

The firm said that despite the region’s tremendous potential, many Australian enterprises face challenges when considering Cloud adoption. This is due to issues surrounding the jurisdictional control of data.

The company previously released a report, Tokenisation and Data Residency: A Solution to a Global Cloud Adoption Problem, where it discussed such issues.

It noted that Australia and New Zealand have recently brought into force regulations in regard to data residency. These laws are designed to maintain control over the location where data and documents physically reside and are limited to Australia and New Zealand respectively.

Perspecsys said this is critical and companies are discovering the restrictions on where data can now be stored. The firm said this can be problematic for local business as many of the current Cloud providers are located in the US and fall outside of the legally applicable locations.

Perspecsys chief executive officer, David Canellos, said these issues appear as a roadblock to Cloud adoption for many that would benefit greatly from the move.

“That does not mean it's the end of the road. AppProtex makes compliance not only possible, but easy and unobtrusive. Important cloud functions such as search and reporting are maintained, and the data control techniques deployed in the gateway are well aligned with applicable Australian/New Zealand legislation.”

“We're currently helping leading organisations in Australia make their move to the public cloud, and we are looking forward to speaking with thought leaders at CeBIT about how we can help partner with them to enable unrivaled data control in the Cloud."

Perspecsys is exhibiting as a partner in in the Cloud EcoSystem area within Salesforce's stand, number G21, from May 5-7 during CeBIT Australia at Sydney Olympic Park.
