John Beaumont has joined HDS as data management sales specialist for NSW and QLD

John Beaumont has a new role at information management and social innovation company, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) working in a data management sales specialist role covering NSW and QLD.

In his new role, Beaumont’s solutions portfolio will cover Commvault - where he was previously director of alliances for APAC - Veritas Technologies as well as HDS products and services.

Speaking of the new role, Beaumont told ARN that he joined HDS because the company was in a unique position in the market and he saw large opportunities for growth.

“HDS has a strength of storage that is recognised by Gartner and the data management portfolio has developed significantly to the point that it is best of breed," he said.

"It is also strongly aligned to the Commvault solution set, which I am very familiar with, and Veritas technologies.

“It is really a one plus one equals three punch when it comes to delivering data management solutions.”

Beaumont praised the culture at HDS and said it was a major contributing factor to him deciding to join the organisation.

“I have known HDS for 12 years having worked with the company from 2004 to 2006 and I have seen from working with them as alliance manager at Commvault, that the company is very well regarded for the ethics with which they conduct their business.

Beaumont went on to say that data is and will continue to be the lifeblood of organisations as they look to achieve lower costs, greater market share and finding new markets.

“HDS is uniquely positioned amongst the wider competitive market, with its strength of data management alliances, in Commvault and Veritas, and with its own Data Management Portfolio, Compute and networking [from Brocade], can deliver best of breed “end to end” Data Management solutions.

Beaumont joins HDS from Commvault where he was most recently director of alliances for APAC. The role saw him saw him lead the company’s alliance strategy for the region and shoulder responsibility for the relationships between business units across Australian, New Zealand, Korean, Japanese, India, Greater China and ASEAN markets.
