Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise crowns Jack Chen as new CEO

Replaces Jeff Ma

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) has named Jack Chen as its new CEO, replacing Jeff Ma, who will stay on as a board member of ALE Holdings.

Chen harbours more than 25 years of experience in the telco industry and was previously the head of APAC and China Wireless business in Alcatel-Lucent.

He was also an executive vice president in Alcatel Shanghai Bell (ABS) and was also the global COO of the Alcatel Mobile Radio Business in France and the president of Shanghai Bell Alcatel Mobile.

Chen will be responsible for driving ALE’s strategy and continuing its transformation by expanding market reach, improving positioning in vertical sectors, accelerating cloud-based business models and growing annuity-based services.

Earlier this year, ALE introduced a new business strategy around how customers choose and purchase networking and communications technology.

To support the new strategy, it launched two new financial and consumption models - Rainbow, which a hybrid Cloud-based service operated by ALE; and Network on Demand that enables businesses to get the latest networking technology on a pay-per-use basis.
